I have something different in store for you today! I love the Christmas holiday season and all the decorations, music, and the ambiance of excitement all around. To me, the Christmas season begins the day after Halloween lol! If the decision were left to me...I would have the Christmas tree up the day after Halloween hahaha! So on November 1st I brought out the Christmas tree box and my husband rolled his eyes and said "Seriously?" and I told him that I had this bright idea of making it a "Thankful tree" =) I could have my tree up and turn it into a Thanksgiving tradition.
I made leaves with my Cricut machine using the "Accent Essentials" cartridge and I put K and Company 3D sticker accents on them of things we are thankful for. I then added ribbon and hung it on the tree. Each day we add more leaves to the tree as we talk about what we are thankful for each day. The garland this was a HUGE undertaking lol!! It was simple to make but took 3 straight days from morning to night to finish it. I bought 4 yards of three different material and cut the material into 7inch by 1 inch strips. I tied them into little pinwheels with 4 strips for each one. I have a 7ft tree and it took all 12 yards of the material lol!! I loved how it turned out though and WOW I can't stop looking at our tree.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog along this hop! Please come back tomorrow
and I will have more to show and tell =)

This is an awesome idea!!! I seen somewhere that someone left their tree up all year and changed it out for each of the holidays. I think this is super cool and what a great way to show what you're thankful for! : )

I love your beautiful tree. I would have my tree up early but my hubby likes it the day after Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing this beautiful creation with us.
ReplyDeleteOh boy! I can imagine your husband's look on his face. What is so funny is that I told my Mom more than once we could decorate it for Valentines and St. Patrick's day so we would have it up to make the house cheerful during the cold winter months. Oh dear, your husband is going to hate me. grin! I love how you decorated your tree. It is very pretty. I love that you are adding to it each day what you are thankful for. I see this as a tradition for you and your family. Thanks for sharing. Edwina Brown edwinabrown@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteNice job I know how time consuming this is I did it to a strand of lights last year and it is also my favorite! Hugs Alesia
