Shabby Accents Blog Hop Feb. 27th -28th

Welcome to the Shabby Accents Blog Hop!

If you have arrived here from Melissa's Blog you are on the right track.
 If not, please start HERE

The shabby chic style has been around for many many years, originating from Great Britain, where time worn items were showcased in most country homes. Today’s essence of shabby chic is to achieve that time worn layered vintage look from yesteryear by painting, distressing, dying or tea staining. Now we bring it to you right from our craft tables.

Please follow along as the following crafters showcase their handmade Shabby Chic Accents. Be sure to visit each blog, as each artist will be having a giveaway. Also, we have a couple of awesome sponsors who have generously donated for a “Grand Prize Giveaway”. Their shops are full of shabby goodness. To qualify, all you have to do is leave a comment on each blog.

Our Sponsors

 $15.00 Gift Certificate

Now on to my project I created a layout of my beautiful cousins =D Paper used
is from K and Company, swirls are cut out from Cricut's Accent Essentials cartridge. I had made the svg file for the chandelier. Flowers are Prima

Here is the line up

I have something different in store for you today! I love the Christmas holiday season and all the decorations, music, and the ambiance of excitement all around. To me, the Christmas season begins the day after Halloween lol! If the decision were left to me...I would have the Christmas tree up the day after Halloween hahaha! So on November 1st I brought out the Christmas tree box and my husband rolled his eyes and said "Seriously?" and I told him that I had this bright idea of making it a "Thankful tree" =) I could have my tree up and turn it into a Thanksgiving tradition.
I made leaves with my Cricut machine using the "Accent Essentials" cartridge and I put K and Company 3D sticker accents on them of things we are thankful for. I then added ribbon and hung it on the tree. Each day we add more leaves to the tree as we talk about what we are thankful for each day. The garland this was a HUGE undertaking lol!! It was simple to make but took 3 straight days from morning to night to finish it. I bought 4 yards of three different material and cut the material into 7inch by 1 inch strips. I tied them into little pinwheels with 4 strips for each one. I have a 7ft tree and it took all 12 yards of the material lol!! I loved how it turned out though and WOW I can't stop looking at our tree.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog along this hop! Please come back tomorrow
and I will have more to show and tell =)
There is a GRAND PRIZE at the end of this hop from our hop sponsor and remember to become a follower of each blog and leave a comment as well on each blog for your chance to win =D
Also I would love for you to visit my fanpage on Facebook and "like" the page to stay in touch...of course this is not required for the grand prize...I would just love to get to know other crafters and keep in touch. Here is the link:

Easter Baskets for Class Party with Jelly Bean Prayer

Here is the project that I posted over at Little Scraps of Heaven's Design Team blog for Wednesday...As room mom I help plan out my son Jayden's class parties and for the Easter/Resurrection party I got these adorable plastic container baskets and filled them with colored eggs with corresponding colored jelly beans inside. I used the paper piecing from the Jesus Loves Me...you can view it HERE and I found a really neat poem about the meaning of the color of jelly beans that are in the matching colored eggs and the poem reads:

Red is for the blood He gave.

Green is for the grass He made.

Yellow is for the sun so bright.

Orange is for the edge of night.

Black is for the sins we made.

White is for the grace He gave.

Purple is for His hour of sorrow.

Pink is for our new tomorrow.

An egg full of jelly beans, Colorful and Sweet

Is a prayer, a promise, A loved one's treat!!

Charlene Dickensen, 1997

All 22 baskets all in a row =D

Each basket also had a baggie of M&M's a baggie with candies to make an Easter candy bracelet and an attached name tag with a scripture on it. I used my Accent Essentials to make the tag and the mat for my poem card =D

Blessings to all of you this Easter!!!
